![]() ![]() In fact, it's going to be quite the opposite. I'm not saying that this sword is going to be the only weapon the character is going to use. Thanks again.Įdit : Thanks everyone for all the answers ! (To be honest I tough that I wouldn't even get since how specific the post was.) I think by trying to be concise, I forgot some details. Thanks for reading all of this, I know it's a very specific question, but I need answer from people who know their way around sword, and it's not my case. Please, take in consideration that the Knight need the weapon to be effective againts any kind of foes (very fragile skeleton to the big bad dragon or armored knight to go into the extreme), easy to "carry" when not in use (by that I mean that he's going to travel alone). ![]() ![]() So now, considering these information, would it be better for him to just have a longsword (not especially a big one, but still a longsword) or a shield and an arming sword ? I was also considering the posibility to get him a "bastard sword" (by that, I mean, a sword that could be used with 2 or 1 hand depending of the situation) with a "small" shield or even a buckler. #Armageddon vs skeleton longsword fullSo, here's the context with the maximum information i can give : the Knight (let's call him that way for the rest of the post) is going to fight 70% in a big full maximum armored plate armor and the 30% in "everyday" clothe he's going to take part in fights going from duel to full ranged battle and all the inbetween 50% of the time he'll be on horseback and the rest on foot probably inside some cities or "dungeons" he will spend 70% of the time work alone but he will also friends or a "squad" with him for the over 30%. Something that could be used for the maximum efficiancy posible considering that it's the only weapon aviable all the time (he can have other ones if it's required, but it will be in very specific situation and not all the time for sure) and depending of the situation. By "best", I mean the jack off all trades weapon. And here is where I'm stuck : as I'm trying to be as close to reality as posible (even if the context will take place in a dark/high fantasy world), I'm really wondering for such a character what would be the "best" weapon. I'm writing something at the moment, and it's about a "lone knight", let's say a typical "paladin" who just roam the country to help the poor and the weak to fight off evil. I'm gonna try to be as concise as posible. Hello everyone and thanks for reading this. ![]()
